Determination of Shape and Mass Density

چکیده
The ill-posed problem of determining the shape of a body immersed in a ""at earth" and the mass density within this body from gravity anomaly measurements on the surface of the earth is investigated. Under some a priori assumptions on the structure of the body's boundary a general theorem on uniqueness of the solution is established and some further theorems are derived as immediate consequences. As often is the case with inverse and ill-posed problems, this question of uniqueness is particulary important whereas because of unavoidable measurement errors, the question of existence for given date, is less so. Let V be a body of mass density 1 , lying below the surface of the earth represented by a half-space, and let the density of the medium surrounding V be 2. Call the relative density, i.e. = 1 ? 2. Several problems have been posed concerning V and , The foregoing problems are fundamental problems in Applied Geophysics and it is known that there is no uniqueness for the problems posed in such generality. Let us look at Problem 1 and clarify the meaning of the phrase "Knowing ". This means that a function is given on all of R 3 while the density function is deened only on the unknown

Physico-chemical evaluation of a biocompatible microemulsion system containing IPM/Tween80/Isobutanol
A biocompatible microemulsion system comprising of isopropyl myristate (IPM) as oil, tween 80 as a non-ionic surfactant and isobuthanol as co-surfactant was studied experimentally at 298.15 K. The pseudo-ternary phase diagram for the microemulsion system has been delineated at different surfactant to co-surfactant mass ratio of 1:1, 2.4:1 and 4:1. Some physico-chemical properties such as densit...
متن کاملEvaluation of bone mass density in healthy individuals in Ahvaz (2000-2003)
Background: Osteoporosis is one of the most common problems in the women, especially after menopause and at the old age. Bone densitometry of vertebrae of lumbar region and femoral neck is a non invasive and precise method for evaluation of bone mass density (BMD) and determination of fracture risk. Materials and Method: from different districts of Ahvaz city, more than 300 healthy men and wo...
متن کاملExtracting Material Information from the CT Numbers by Artificial Neural Networks for Use in the Monte Carlo Simulations of Different Tissue Types in Brachytherapy
Background: The artificial neural networks (ANNs) are useful in solving nonlinear processes, without the need for mathematical models of the parameters. Since the relationship between the CT numbers and material compositions is not linear, ANN can be used for obtaining tissue density and composition. Objective: The aim of this study is to utilize ANN for determination of the composition and mass...
متن کاملThe simulation of novel annular shape on the Performance in Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell
In this article, one-phase and three dimensional computational fluid dynamics analysis was utilized to investigate the effect of annular field pattern of proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFC) with different geometry on the performances and species distribution. This computational fluid dynamics code is used for solving the equation in single domain namely the flow field, the mass conserva...
متن کاملMeasurements of iron concentrate stockpile weight, from laser mapping to investigation of effective parameters on surface density
Determination of stockpile weight and stockpile inventory are critical to any quarry or mining operation, whether it is required by accounting firms or used internally for the quarterly balance of production and sales. Generally, errors and problems originate from two factors. Volume of stockpile that is traditionally worked out from the mapping results has a low accuracy due to irregular shape...
متن کاملNumerical Study of Curved-Shape Channel Effect on Performance and Distribution of Species in a Proton-Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell: Novel Structure
In this paper, a three-dimensional, single-phase proton-exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) is studied numerically. Finite volume method was used for solving the governing equations and, consequently, the numerical results were validated by comparing them with experimental data, which showed good agreement. The main objective of this work is to investigate the effect of a novel gas channel shap...
